Lake Okeechobee Fishing Report for October 31, 2024
Well folks, Captain Joe here, ready to give you the lowdown on Lake O!  She's sittin' purty at 16.10 feet today. That's up a tad from last year when she was at 16.21 feet this time, and way up from two years ago when she was at 15.83 feet.  We're a bit above the average for this time of year, but that's alright, more water for the fishies to swim in!
Now, let's talk about what this all means for your fishing trip. With the water being a little higher than last year, those bass are gonna be lookin' for some new hidin' spots.  Keep an eye out for any flooded vegetation, that's where they'll be hangin' out.  And with these temperatures still nice and warm, the bass are gonna be hungry.  I'm talkin' crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and topwater lures, folks!
Now, the weatherman's sayin' we got some rain comin' our way over the next few days.  A little rain never hurt nobody, especially the fish!  Just be careful out there on the water, and always wear your life jacket.
