Lake Okeechobee Fishing Report - October 31, 2024

Ahoy there, anglers! Captain Joe here, back with your Lake Okeechobee fishing report. The lake is sittin' purty at 16.10 feet above sea level today. That's a tad higher than this time last year when she was at 16.21 feet, but a good bit higher than two years ago when we were lookin' at 15.83 feet.

Now, the weatherman's sayin' we might get a little rain over the next few days, which could stir up the bass and get 'em bitin'. The wind's supposed to be blowin' a bit too, so be prepared for a little chop on the water. But hey, a little wind never scared a true fisherman, right?

With the water bein' a might high, the bass are likely to be hangin' out in the shallows, lookin' for a tasty meal. I'd recommend tryin' your luck with some topwater lures or maybe a swim jig around the grass beds. And don't forget about the crappie! They love this time of year, so keep an eye out for 'em around any brush piles or submerged structure.

Well, that's the latest from Lake Okeechobee. Remember to stay safe out there, and tight lines!

Captain Joe
