Lake Okeechobee Water Level Update and Fishing Forecast - October 31, 2024
Ahoy there, anglers! Captain Joe here, back with your Lake Okeechobee fishing report.  Let's dive into today's water level report and see what ol' Okeechobee has in store for us. 
Current Lake Okeechobee Water Level
As of October 30, 2024, the official Lake Okeechobee water level is sitting at 16.10 feet NGVD. Now, that's a tad higher than this time last year when she was at 16.21 feet, and a bit lower than two years ago when we clocked in at 15.83 feet.

Alright, let's break this down for my favorite people - the fish! This water level means we're in for some interesting times on the lake. The bass fishing should be hot!  With the water level a little higher than last year, those big ol' females will be movin' up shallow to spawn.  Look for them in the grassy areas and along the edges of the reeds.  
Now, for you crappie fanatics, this water level is right up your alley.  The specks love to hang out in the submerged vegetation, and with the water a bit higher, they'll have plenty of places to hide.  Break out those jigs and minnows, folks, it's gonna be good!

Now, let's talk weather. We've got some light rain in the forecast for the next few days, with temperatures ranging from the low 70s to the high 80s. The wind will be blowin' a bit, so make sure you come prepared with your rain gear and a hat that won't blow away!
