Lake Okeechobee Fishing Report - March 28, 2025

Howdy, folks! Captain Joe here, back with your Lake Okeechobee fishing report. The lake is sittin' at 12.68 feet above sea level today. That's a good bit lower than last year when she was up around 15.37 feet, and even lower than the 14.68 feet we saw two years back.

Weather Forecast and Impact on Fishing

We're lookin' at partly cloudy skies today with a high of 77 degrees Fahrenheit. Winds are gonna be blowin' out of the east at a gentle 5 to 10 miles per hour. This mild weather should make for a pleasant day out on the water, but remember to dress in layers as it can get chilly in the mornings and evenings.

Bass Fishing

With the water level down, the bass are gonna be concentratin' in the remaining deeper water. Look for them around the edges of the grass lines and near any structure you can find. Slow-rollin' a spinnerbait or crawdad-pattern crankbait along the bottom should entice some bites.

Crappie and Speckled Perch Fishing

Crappie and specks are gonna be hangin' out in deeper water too. Try fishin' live minnows or small jigs near brush piles, submerged trees, or any other cover you can find. Vertical jigging can be very effective this time of year.

Well, that's the latest from Lake Okeechobee. Remember to check back here every day for the most up-to-date fishing report. And as always, tight lines and good fishin'!
