Lake Okeechobee Fishing Report – March 27, 2025

Howdy, folks! Captain Joe here, back with a quick update on what’s happening on Lake Okeechobee.

Lake Okeechobee Water Levels

As of this morning, March 27, 2025, Lake Okeechobee’s water level is sitting at 12.72 feet NGVD. That’s a tad lower
than last year when we were at 15.38 feet, and a bit below the historical average for this time of year.

Weather Forecast and Impact on Fishing

The weatherman is calling for partly cloudy skies today with a high around 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Winds will be
light out of the east at around 5-10 miles per hour.

With these conditions, the bass fishing should be pretty good. The lower light conditions from the clouds will
make the bass more active, and the light winds shouldn’t make it too difficult to fish your favorite spots. Look
for bass to be holding near vegetation and drop-offs.

Crappie and speckled perch fishing should also be decent. Target these fish in deeper water near brush piles and
other structures.

That’s all for today’s quick update. Remember, always check the latest weather and water conditions before heading
out on the lake. And most importantly, have fun out there!

Tight lines,
Captain Joe
