Lake Okeechobee Fishing Report - March 26, 2025

Well folks, it's another beautiful day here on Lake Okeechobee. The sky is clear, the birds are singin', and the fish are bitin'. Let's dive into how this gorgeous weather's gonna affect our fishin' today.

Lake Okeechobee Water Level Update

First things first, the lake level is sittin' at 12.76 feet above sea level today. Now, that's a tad lower than this time last year when we were at 15.42 feet, and a bit lower than two years ago when it was at 14.73 feet. But don't let that fool ya, there's still plenty of water out there for the fish to roam.

How the Weather Impacts Today's Fishing

With these clear skies and a light breeze, we're lookin' at a prime day for sight fishin'. The bass will be up in the shallows, particularly around the grassy edges, lookin' for a tasty meal.

Now, for you crappie fishermen, this clear water means you'll need to use lighter line and be extra stealthy. Try fishin' near those submerged brush piles and drop-offs.

And don't forget about the bluegill! They'll be hangin' out in those same shallow, grassy areas as the bass. A simple cricket or worm under a bobber will do the trick.

Tight Lines, Y'all!

That's the quick report for today, folks. Remember, this is just a taste of what's goin' on out there. Be sure to check back on Monday for my full weekly fishing report, where I'll dive deeper into the best baits, techniques, and locations for the week ahead.

Until then, tight lines and God bless!
