Lake Okeechobee Fishing Report – February 12, 2025

Howdy, folks! Captain Joe here, back with a quick look at how today’s conditions on Lake Okeechobee might impact your fishing.

Lake Okeechobee Water Level Update

As of this morning, February 12, 2025, Lake Okeechobee’s water level is sitting at 14.11 feet NGVD. That’s a tad lower than this time last year when we were at 16.35 feet and a bit below the level two years ago, which was 15.93 feet.

Okeechobee Weather Forecast and Fishing Impact

The weatherman is calling for scattered clouds today with temperatures around 74 degrees Fahrenheit. Winds should be light out of the south at around 5 miles per hour.

With these conditions, the bass fishing should be pretty good. The scattered clouds will provide some shade for the fish, and the light winds will make for comfortable fishing conditions. Look for bass to be holding in the grass beds and around any submerged vegetation.

Crappie fishing should also be decent today. The scattered clouds and light winds will make it easier to spot their beds. Try using live minnows or jigs around any brush piles or submerged trees.

Captain Joe’s Final Thoughts

Overall, it looks like a beautiful day to be out on the water. Whether you’re targeting bass or crappie, remember to be patient, use your fish finder to locate likely areas, and most importantly, enjoy the peace and quiet of Lake Okeechobee. Tight lines, everyone!
