Lake Okeechobee Fishing Report for January 25, 2025

Well folks, it’s another beautiful day here in Okeechobee, Florida. The sun’s shining, the birds are chirping, and Lake Okeechobee is lookin’ fine. Let’s see how the fishin’ shapes up today.

Lake Okeechobee Water Level and Weather

The Army Corps of Engineers reports Lake Okeechobee’s water level at 14.57 feet above sea level today. That’s a touch lower than this time last year (16.25 feet) and two years ago (16.13 feet). We’re lookin’ at clear skies with a light breeze today.

How Today’s Conditions Impact Fishing on Lake Okeechobee

With the lake level down a bit, the bass are likely to be holdin’ tight to any cover they can find. Look for ’em around vegetation, submerged trees, and drop-offs. The clear skies mean the fish might be a little spooky, so downsize your line and use natural-looking baits.

The crappie should be schooled up in deeper water. Try using small jigs or minnows around brush piles and submerged structure.

Remember, this is just a quick look at today’s fishing conditions. Check back on Monday for my full weekly fishing report, where I’ll dive deeper into the best baits, techniques, and locations for all your favorite Lake Okeechobee fish.

Tight lines, y’all!
