Lake Okeechobee Water Level Update and Fishing Forecast – January 21, 2025

Howdy, folks! Captain Joe here, back with your daily Lake Okeechobee fishing report. The lake is lookin’ a might different than last year, let me tell ya. The Army Corps of Engineers has the lake sitting at 14.56 feet above sea level. That’s a good bit lower than this time last year when we were at 16.19 feet, and even lower than two years ago when it was at 16.09 feet.

How the Water Level Impacts Today’s Fishing

This lower water level is gonna change the game for us anglers. With less water, those bass, crappie, and specks are gonna be more concentrated in the remaining deeper water. That means we gotta adjust our tactics and target those areas where the fish are holed up.

Weather Forecast and What to Expect

Now, the weatherman is callin’ for some light rain today, about an inch or so. That little bit of rain might stir up the water a bit and get those fish bitin’. Keep an eye on the wind too. A little breeze can be your friend, pushin’ those baitfish around and makin’ the fish active.

Tight Lines and Good Luck Out There!

Well, that’s the latest from Lake Okeechobee. Remember, adjust your approach based on the water level and weather conditions, and you’ll be sure to have a successful day on the water. And as always, tight lines and good luck out there!
