## 10/30/2024 Weekly Okeechobee Fishing Report

Howdy, folks! Captain Joe here, and it's another beautiful week to be on the water, especially on Lake Okeechobee! And let me tell ya, the lake's feeling a little bit different this week.

We're starting the week with the lake at 16.10 feet, officially. That's higher than last year (16.21) but still a little higher than the 2-year average (15.83). Honestly, it's been a bit of a roller coaster ride this year, but we're in a good spot for now.

Now, let's talk about the fishing. We're heading into the heart of fall, the water's cooling down, and the fish are starting to get active!

**Bass** are getting ready for their fall feed. Look for them around the edges of the lake, especially near vegetation and shallow water. They'll be hungry, so throw on some lipless crankbaits, topwaters, and spinnerbaits and get ready for some action.

**Bluegill** are also getting active. Head to the shallower grass beds and weed lines, and you'll likely find a school of hungry bluegill ready for a meal.

**Crappie** are starting to move to deeper water, so try trolling jigging spoons or minnows around the deeper grass lines and drop-offs.

**Weather's gonna be a little tricky this week, though.** Look for a mix of sunshine and rain with the chance of some thunderstorms. Winds could be light, but a little gusty at times. Don't forget your rain gear and a light jacket in case you get chilly!

And please, remember to be safe out there! Check the weather before you head out, wear a life jacket, and let someone know where you're going and when you'll be back.

See you on the water, and tight lines!
