10/31/2024 – Weekly Lake Okeechobee Fishing Report

## 10/30/2024 Weekly Okeechobee Fishing Report

Howdy, fellow anglers! Captain Joe here, and let me tell ya, this week’s lookin’ mighty interesting on the Big O. We’re sittin’ at 16.10 feet, which is actually a little higher than this time last year (16.21 ft.) but lower than two years ago (15.83 ft.). I know, I know, it can be a bit confusing with these numbers, but trust me, it’s a good thing.

We’re a little on the higher side, but that doesn’t mean we’re gonna be flooded out! The water’s clear, and the fish are hungry. Now, let’s talk about that weather, because it’s gonna play a big part in your fishing success.

This week’s looking like a mixed bag – we’re gonna have some sunshine and some rain, but overall, the temperatures are lookin’ great for fishin’. We’re expectin’ [Collection], [Collection], [Collection], [Collection], [Collection], [Collection], [Collection], [Collection].

Now, let’s break down the fishing:

**Bass:** Those big bass are gonna be cruisin’ the shallows this week, especially with the warmer temps. Focus on lily pads, reeds, and those areas where the water’s mixing. Throw some topwater baits, spinnerbaits, or worm rigs, and you’ll be in for a good time.

**Speckled Perch:** The specks are gonna be in the deeper holes, where the water’s cooler. Try some live shrimp or minnows, and you’ll be pullin’ in the dinner.

**Crappie:** Crappie are gonna be in the same spots as the specks – those deeper holes and around those submerged brush piles. Use jigs or minnows, and you’ll be set.

**Catfish:** Catfish are gonna be on the move, so look for those areas where the water’s moving. Try some cut bait or night crawlers, and don’t forget to bring your cooler!

Remember, the best way to find the fish is to get out on the lake and explore. Use your senses – look for signs of fish activity, listen for the ripples, and feel the temperature changes in the water.

And, most importantly, have fun! That’s what it’s all about.

Tight lines,

Captain Joe
