10/31/2024 Weekly Okeechobee Fishing Report
Hey, y'all! Captain Joe here, back with another Okeechobee fishing report. The lake is a little higher than last year at 16.10 feet compared to 16.21 feet, but it's still a tad lower than in 2022. I mean, ain't it always some kinda change going on with this here lake?
Now the weather's gonna be a little different than last week, sunshine mixed with some clouds, but I've been fishing Okeechobee long enough to know that a little sunshine ain't gonna stop the fish from bitin'.
**Bass**
The bass are gonna be scattered this week, just like they always are this time of year. They're movin' up shallow in the mornings and evenings to feed, so try throwin' some topwater baits like poppers or buzzbaits. When the sun gets high, they'll move out a little deeper, and you'll need to switch to crankbaits or jigs. It's really all about finding those bass and if the weather's good, you'll find them.
**Speckled Perch (Crappie)**
The crappie are schooling up in the deeper water now so use jigs and minnows in the deeper grass lines and around the bushes.
**Bluegill and Catfish**
The catfish are active and you can catch them just about anywhere on the lake, particularly around the canals and shoreline. You can use worms, shrimp, or even hotdogs as bait. Bluegill are also active and pretty easy to catch, they're movin' from the shallows into the deeper water now. You can use crickets, worms, or even a little bit of corn to catch them.
**Weather this Week**
Here's the weather for the week so you can plan your fishing trip:
* **Monday:** Few clouds, 82 degrees.
* **Tuesday:** Few clouds, 84 degrees.
* **Wednesday:** Few clouds, 86 degrees.
* **Thursday:** Few clouds, 87 degrees.
* **Friday:** Few clouds, 88 degrees.
* **Saturday:** Few clouds, 89 degrees.
* **Sunday:** Few clouds, 88 degrees.
Remember, I'm always here to help you catch fish, so feel free to send me a message with any questions or concerns. I'll do my best to help ya out!
Until next time, Happy fishing!
