Lake Okeechobee Fishing Report for 10/31/2024 - OkeechobeeFishingReport.com
Ahoy, anglers! Captain Joe here, your trusty guide to the best darn fishing on Lake Okeechobee. Let's dive into today's fishing report and see what's what.Lake Okeechobee Water Level:
The big O's water level is currently sitting at 16.10 feet NGVD. That's a tad higher than this time last year (16.21 feet NGVD) and a good bit above where she was two years ago (15.83 feet NGVD). We're above the historical average for this time of year, which means plenty of water for our finned friends to roam around in.Lake Okeechobee Weather Forecast:
Hold onto your hats, folks, because we've got some wind in the forecast! Today, expect clear skies with a high of 82°F (27.91°C) and a low of 72°F (22.37°C). The wind will be blowin' from the east-northeast at a breezy 15 mph (7.74 m/s), with gusts up to 23 mph (11.52 m/s). Looking ahead, we've got some rain chances moving in. Wednesday through Sunday look to be a bit soggy, with light rain and similar temperatures to today. The wind will stick around too, so be prepared for a bit of a chop on the water.Lake Okeechobee Fishing Forecast:
With the higher water level, the bass are spread out like a cheap suit. Look for them in the grassy areas and along the edges of the vegetation. Topwater frogs and swim jigs will be your best bet for enticing those big ol' bucketmouths. The crappie bite should be picking up as the water cools down. Target them around deeper brush piles and submerged structure using minnows or small jigs. Remember, folks, fishing is like life – you gotta be in it to win it! So grab your gear, check the forecast, and come on down to Lake Okeechobee for some of the best fishing in Florida. Tight lines! Captain Joe OkeechobeeFishingReport.com
