This week's weather forecast is calling for more of the same: hot, humid, and a chance of afternoon thunderstorms.  The high temperatures will be in the low 90s, with overnight lows in the mid-70s. Winds will be light and variable, with a chance of afternoon sea breezes. There is a slight chance of rain each day, with the highest chance on Wednesday and Thursday.

The bass fishing on Lake Okeechobee has been tough lately, with the heat and the high water levels making it difficult to find fish. The best bet for bass right now is to fish early in the morning or late in the evening, when the temperatures are a little cooler. Look for bass in the shallows, around vegetation, and near the mouths of creeks and canals. Topwater frogs, swim jigs, and creature baits are all good choices for bass right now.  
The crappie fishing on Lake Okeechobee has been good lately, with anglers catching good numbers of fish. The best bet for crappie right now is to fish in the deeper water, around brush piles, and near the mouths of creeks and canals. Minnows, jigs, and small crankbaits are all good choices for crappie right now.  
The bluegill fishing on Lake Okeechobee has been fair lately, with anglers catching some fish but not in great numbers. The best bet for bluegill right now is to fish in the shallows, around vegetation, and near the mouths of creeks and canals. Crickets, worms, and small jigs are all good choices for bluegill right now.
