Lake Okeechobee Fishing Report - March 31, 2025 - OkeechobeeFishingReport.com Lake Okeechobee Water Level Report and Fishing Forecast for March 31, 2025
Ahoy there, anglers! This is Captain Joe, your trusty guide to all things fishin' on Lake Okeechobee, back with another report on the Big O! **Lake Okeechobee Water Level:** As of March 31, 2025, the lake is sittin' at 12.56 feet above sea level. Now, that's a whole lot lower than this time last year when she was up at 15.24 feet, and even lower than two years ago when it was 14.59 feet. She's a fickle lady, this lake! **Weather Forecast:** We're in for some typical Florida spring weather this week, folks. Expect a mix of sun, clouds, and a chance of those afternoon showers we know so well. Temperatures will be pleasant, ranging from the high 60s to the low 80s. Wind will be blowin' from the southeast at a steady clip, so hold onto your hats! **Fishing Forecast:** * **Bass:** With the water level down, the bass are gonna be concentratin' in the remaining vegetation and along the edges of the grass lines. Look for 'em in the Kissimmee River, Harney Pond, and along the western shoreline. Topwater frogs, swim jigs, and creature baits will be your best bet. * **Crappie:** The crappie bite should be pickin' up as we head into April. Look for 'em around the bridges, docks, and other structures. Small jigs, minnows, and live crickets will entice these tasty fellas. * **Bluegill:** The bluegill are always a good time, and they'll be bitin' well in the shallows. Look for 'em around lily pads, reeds, and other vegetation. Small jigs, worms, and crickets will do the trick. **Captain Joe's Tip of the Week:** Remember, folks, with the lower water levels, it's more important than ever to be mindful of the lake bottom. Use caution when navigatin', and be sure to check your charts for any hazards. That's all for this week's report, folks. Stay safe out there, and tight lines!
