Lake Okeechobee Fishing Report for February 16, 2025
Hey there, fellow anglers! Captain Joe here, back with your daily Lake Okeechobee fishing report. Let's dive into what the Big O has in store for us today.
Lake Okeechobee Water Levels
As of right now, the lake is sitting at 14.05 feet NGVD. That's a tad lower than last year's 16.32 feet and the 15.80 feet we saw two years ago.  This puts us about half a foot below the historical average for this time of year.
Weather Forecast and Impact on Fishing
We're looking at partly cloudy skies today with a light breeze. Temperatures are expected to be pleasant, which should make for a comfortable day on the water. 
Now, let's talk about how this all ties into the fishing. With the water level a bit lower than usual, we might see fish concentrated in certain areas. Look for them around deeper cuts, drop-offs, and any remaining vegetation.
Bass Fishing
Bass fishing should be decent.  Focus on using slower presentations like worms or creature baits around those deeper areas.  
Crappie Fishing
Crappie are usually hanging out near brush piles and other structures.
