Lake Okeechobee Fishing Report – February 7, 2025

Howdy folks, Captain Joe here with your Lake Okeechobee fishing report for February 7, 2025. The weatherman says we’re in for a beautiful day on the lake with clear skies and sunshine. Let’s see how this and the current lake level might impact the fishing.

Lake Okeechobee Water Level

Lake Okeechobee is currently sitting at 14.26 feet above sea level. That’s a bit lower than this time last year when it was at 16.34 feet, and lower than two years ago when it was at 15.97 feet.

How This Impacts Your Fishing

With the clear skies and sunshine, the water temperature should warm up nicely throughout the day. This could make for some active bass in the shallows. Look for them around the edges of grass beds and near any submerged structure.

The lower lake level means the fish might be a bit more concentrated. This can be a good thing, as long as you can find the right spots. Focus your efforts on areas where there is still good water depth and cover.

Well, that’s the latest from Lake Okeechobee. Get out there and enjoy this beautiful weather while it lasts. Remember to be respectful of the lake and its inhabitants, and as always, tight lines!
