oke 10/30/2024 Weekly Okeechobee Fishing Report
Well howdy there, fellow anglers! Captain Joe here, your friendly neighborhood Okeechobee guide. It's a beautiful day out here on the Big O, and the water's lookin' mighty fine. Speaking of the water, let's dive into this week's report and see what's shakin'.
The Lake's currently sittin' at 16.10 feet, which is a tad higher than last year's 16.21 feet, but slightly higher than the 2 year average of 15.83 feet. That's good news for us anglers, as it means we've got plenty of water to cast our lines.
Now, let's talk about the weather. It's lookin' like we're gonna have a pretty typical Florida week with some sunshine, some clouds, and maybe even a pop-up shower or two. The winds aren't expected to be too bad, so we should have some good conditions for fishin'.
**Bass**
The bass are still in a good mood around the lake, with plenty of action reported throughout the week. They are scatterred but you can find them around the edges of the lily pads in deeper waters.
**Speckled Perch**
Well, the speckled perch are still goin' strong. They are being caught in the deeper areas of the lake, so be sure to pack some jigs and minnows!
**Crankbaits**
Crankbaits are probably your best bet for bass this week! Work those shallow areas, use slow retrievals with a lot of pauses, and you'll be reelin' in some trophies.
**Tips for this Week**
* Early mornings and late evenings are prime time for fishin' this week. The bass are a bit more active during those times.
* Watch out for those pesky little weeds. They can really get in the way of your casts.
* Don't give up if you're not haulin' 'em in like crazy. Fishin' is all about patience, persistence, and a little bit of luck.**So get out there and enjoy the fishi'n' folks!** Be safe, have fun, and let me know how you do. You can always find me on the lake, or you can comment on this post and let me know what you're catchin'! Alright, now go grab your rods and reel 'em in!
