Lake Okeechobee Fishing Report – June 26, 2025 – Captain Joe

Howdy folks, Captain Joe here with your daily Lake Okeechobee fishing report. Let’s get right to it – the lake’s callin’ and the fish are bitin’ (or not!).

Lake Okeechobee Water Levels

As of this mornin’, June 26, 2025, Lake Okeechobee’s official elevation is 10.97 feet NGVD. That’s down a hair from yesterday, sittin’ at 0.00 feet lower. We’re still down 2.43 feet from where we were this time last year and 3.55 feet from two years ago. Keep an eye on these levels, folks, as they greatly impact where the fish are holdin’.

Weather Impact on Fishing Today

The weather forecast for today is callin’ for rain. We’re lookin’ at about 5.58 mm of rain (that’s roughly 0.22 inches). The wind is comin’ out of the southeast at around 14 mph with gusts up to 18 mph. The high for today will be around 89 degrees Fahrenheit, with a low around 75 degrees.

Here’s how this weather might affect your fishin’ today:

Bass Fishing

With the rain and wind, look for the bass to be tucked in tight to cover. Spinnerbaits and crankbaits worked along the edges of grass lines could be productive. The lower light conditions from the rain might encourage some topwater action early and late in the day. Focus on areas with moving water, like canals and cuts.

Crappie Fishing

Crappie might be a bit scattered with the wind. Try minnows or jigs around submerged structure and deeper brush piles. The rain could push them a little deeper as well. Slow and steady wins the race today.

Bluegill Fishing

Bluegill will likely be feeding in the shallows, especially if the rain brings in some insects. Crickets and worms under a bobber are always a good bet. Look for them around lily pads and other vegetation.

Inflows and Outflows

Total Inflows into the lake are at 274 cfs, with the S65E contributing 237 cfs and Fisheating Creek adding 37 cfs. Total Outflows are at 192 cfs, with the S352 flowin’ at 230 cfs and the S308 flowin’ at -74 cfs. Keep in mind that the S77 structure flow and S308 below flow meter are being used to compute Total Outflow.

Captain Joe’s Tip of the Day

Don’t be afraid to experiment with your presentation today. The fish might be a little finicky with the weather changin’. Try different retrieves and lure colors until you find what they want. And always, always, practice catch and release to keep our lake healthy!

That’s all for today’s report. Tight lines and happy fishin’!

– Captain Joe
