Lake Okeechobee Fishing Report – March 13, 2025

Well folks, it’s another beautiful day here on Lake Okeechobee! The weatherman is callin’ for clear skies with a high of 82 degrees, a light breeze, and no chance of rain. Sounds like a perfect day to be out on the water to me!

Lake Okeechobee Water Level Update

The lake is sittin’ at 13.29 feet above sea level today. That’s a far cry from the 15.83 feet we saw this time last year and 15.13 feet two years ago. This lower water level has concentrated the fish and they’re biting!

How Today’s Conditions Impact Your Fishing

With the clear skies and lower water levels, expect the bass to be schooled up tight. They’ll be lookin’ for shade and cover wherever they can find it. Focus your efforts around:

  • Grass lines
  • Reed beds
  • Submerged vegetation

For you crappie and bluegill enthusiasts, the lower water levels mean they’ll be congregating around any structure they can find. Try fishin’ near:

  • Bridge pilings
  • Dock posts
  • Cypress trees

Remember, these are just a few quick tips for today’s conditions. Be sure to check back on Monday for my full weekly fishing report where I’ll dive deeper into what’s biting and where. Until then, tight lines and good fishin’!
