Lake Okeechobee Fishing Report - March 03, 2025

Ahoy there, anglers! Captain Joe here, back with your weekly Lake Okeechobee fishing report. Let's dive into what's been biting and what the lake's been up to this week.

Lake Conditions

Well, folks, Lake O is sittin' purty at 13.70 feet above sea level this week. That's a tad lower than this time last year (16.14 feet) and the year before (15.46 feet). Now, I know what you're thinkin', "Lower water, tougher fishin', right?" Well, hold your horses! Lower water can concentrate those bass and make 'em mighty hungry.

Weather Forecast

Mother Nature's got a mixed bag for us this week. We're lookin' at some light rain on Tuesday and Wednesday, but don't you worry, those fish ain't scared of a little drizzle. Just remember your trusty rain gear! The rest of the week is lookin' mostly clear with temperatures ranging from the low 50s to the low 80s. Perfect weather for castin' a line, if you ask me!

Fishing Forecast

Now, let's talk fishin'. With the water level down, those bass are gonna be hangin' out in the Kissimmee grass and around those hydrilla beds. A good topwater frog or a swim jig will get their attention. Don't forget about those speckled perch (we call 'em crappie up north) either. They'll be schooled up in deeper water, so drop a minnow or a jig down there and get ready for some fun!

Well, there you have it, folks! Another Lake Okeechobee fishing report in the books. Remember, whether you're a seasoned angler or just starting out, Lake O has something for everyone. So, grab your gear, get out there, and let's go fishin'!

Tight lines,
Captain Joe
