oke 10/30/2024 Weekly Okeechobee Fishing Report
Well, howdy folks! Captain Joe here, your friendly neighborhood Okeechobee fishing guide. It's starting to feel like fall out here with the mornings turning a bit chilly. The water's still warm, but the fish are starting to get ready for winter, and that means some changes on the bite!
## Lake Okeechobee Water Level
First things first, let's talk about that water level. As of today, October 30th, 2024, she's sitting at 16.10 feet. That's a smidge higher than last year's 16.21 feet, but a little lower than the 15.83 feet we saw this time two years ago. Pretty consistent, all things considered.
## The Weather Forecast
Now, let's see what Mother Nature has planned for the week! Looks like we're in for some interesting weather with some wind thrown in for good measure.

## Okeechobee Fishing Tips
**Bass**
The bass are starting to move into deeper water as the water cools down. Areas around the bridges are usually good spots, and you might even find some bass hanging out around the grass lines. Worms and jigs are always good bets, but don't be afraid to throw a crankbait in the mix.
**Crappie**
Crappie are in transition too, moving deeper. Try those deeper docks, the edges of the canals, and even the deeper areas around the bridges. Minnows are a classic choice, but jigging with small jigs can be productive.
**Catfish**
Catfish are always hungry, and they're moving into the deeper areas too. Try fishing on the bottom near the grass lines, and don't forget about the bridges. Cut bait, shrimp, and worms are all great choices for catfish.
**Other Fish**
If you're looking for other species, the bass and crappie are still biting, along with some other species like bluegill and catfish.
**Remember:** Fish early in the morning or late in the afternoon when the sun is low. Don't forget your sunscreen and bug spray, and most importantly, be sure to keep a watchful eye on the weather.
I hope this helps you have a great week on Okeechobee! Tight lines, and I'll see you out there!
